I was really having computer problems to the point I decided to build the system from scratch. I never did this before in the 5 years that I have owned this computer. I believed that I had everything loaded from the disks supplied but under Device Manager, those listed below have a yellow question mark with an '!' circle.
Ethernet Controller
Multimedia Audio Controller
PCI Modem
Video Controller
Video Controller (VGA Compatible)
Am I missing a disk? I thought that everything loaded correctly from the disks I had and I just clicked 'next' for each step and did not change anything.
My question is, how do I know how to select the correct drivers for downloading for I haven't a clue? It does not allow me to to update the driver from the internet - the only search it does is automatic or if I select a CD or location of which I do not know.
I believe I will need 4 of the 5 drivers. Will I really need PCI Modem? I am not using a modem - I am using a wireless connection. That is unless this is for something completely different.
I also think that this is why my games are not loading or working properly.
Any help would really be appreciated.

Dell Dimension 8400 User - Have had no sound nor ability to connect to Internet since clean install of Windows 7. Message when trying to connect to internet says connection not found, diagnose connection - cable unplugged. I have a broadband cable modem that connects to a WNR854T Wireless router, and ethernet cable that goes from router back to the network adapter port in the PC. The wireless network is working and connects to internet with no issues. I just cannot connect from the 8400 (hardwired). I tried taking wireless router out of the picture by connecting the ethernet cable from the broadband modem to the pc - but also does not recognize it or cannot connect . Worked fine prior to install Under network devices I have the BroadcomNetXtreme 57xxGig Controller - noticed on my son's and wife's machines (non dell) they also have an Ethernet Controller lister in their network adapters - if this is a driver issue not sure what driver or process will resolve this - Dell Tech support has been unable to resolve - any suggestions would be appreciated
